The two crude benchmarks, and gas
A short list on purpose: these are the contracts that carry the volume, quoted continuously rather than as dated months.
Brent crude
UKOIL.c — the North Sea benchmark that most of the world's physical crude is priced against.
WTI crude
USOIL.c — the US benchmark, quoted alongside Brent so the spread between the two is one screen away.
Natural gas
XNGUSD — natural gas quoted in US dollars, the most volatile of the three and the one that moves on weather.
Cash, not dated futures
These contracts run continuously. There is no expiry month, no roll date and no settlement that closes a position for you.
